family time

We went to Ocean Shores for 6 days with the Marcus/Jones family (without Bob- who is deployed right now).  It was beautiful weather, just a little chilly on the beach.   The boys have been to the beach before, but this was Layla's first time and she was loving it...
The boys first day out at the beach- starting their sand castle.  well...Hudson starting it and then Conner knocking it over!

We went and walked around 2 pirate ships that were used in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.    Hudson was in awe and was a little nervous about going aboard until we promised him that there were only "good" pirates on these ships.

I LOVE my family and we have had a lot of family time these past few months! :)  Here is what we have been up to lately...
Layla and Kari and Bob came for a visit and Conner and Layla were inseparable...they are best buddies.
they spent a lot of time playing on the treadmill together.

Conner going to give Layla a kiss
We also had Devin's first tri of the season... The Medical Lake Trailblazer Tri.  Dev did really well!  He was 6th overall and 2nd in his age group.  Not bad considering there were 3 pros competing! :)

My Favorite Christmas Eve...

After 2 weeks of all 4 of us being housebound with the flu and tummy bug- we FINALLY made it to Spokane for Christmas!  On Christmas Eve,  Dev and I got the opportunity to take Hudson to the "North Pole."  We took a 40 minute cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene to see Santa and Mrs. Clause.  It was absolutely gorgeous- beautiful Christmas lights everywhere.  The highlight was when Hudson heard his name being read off the "nice list" by Santa.  I LOVED his reaction...it made my whole Christmas!
It was the most amazing Christmas experience ever...
Hudson was a little nervous at first.  He did NOT want to sit in Santa's lap...again.  He decided that he would rather see Frosty the Snowman.  (which we did see Frosty, the Gingerbread Man, and the Grinch)!  At the end- he decided it was the "most fun ever!"
Thanks Grammy Nancy and Papa for the very memorable Christmas present for the 3 of us! :)
